Lonza Rat cerebellar neurons
Cryopreserved ampule of Rat Cerebellar Granular Neurons containing ≥ 4 million cells. Catalog #: R-Cb-503
Product Overview
Clonetics™ Rat Cerebellar Granular Cells are isolated from cerebellar cortex of adult Sprague Dawley rats at postnatal day 8. Cerebellar granular cells utilize glutamate as their neurotransmitter and as such, are the only excitatory neurons within the cerebellar cortex.
All other neuronal cell types employ GABA as a neurotransmitter. Granular cells arise during the latter stages of neuronal development of the cerebellar cortex and are the most abundant single neuronal type in the mammalian brain. These are highly homogeneous populations of granular cells containing less than 5% GABAergic neurons, as assessed by GABA immunoreactivity.
